Episode Description
Every decision a mother makes is a potential guilt-trap: breastmilk or formula? when do I return to work? who looks after my child when I'm away? My child is crying for me while in the helper's arms - do I stay, do I go? In reality, there's often no perfect solution and every choice comes with something we need to give up/ let go. Being a parent presents us with endless opportunities to practice embracing imperfection and balancing current needs with long-term goals. This guided meditation reminds us that guilt comes from love. Love is not always pretty and comfortable, but we can learn to embrace it all, even the messy, painful parts. Love and presence are enduring qualities that can be felt, even when you step away for your own needs or tend to other parts of your life.
